Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC)
JRLC works to mobilize religious communities to influence public policy in Minnesota. They are an advocate for social justice related to a variety of issues such as poverty, health care, and abuse and neglect. WPGUMC is a member of this organization and participates in its annual Day on the Hill.
Tubman Family Alliance
Tubman seeks to create safe and healthy families, individuals, and communities. They work with men and women and help them to use creative strategies to build violence-free lives. The WPGUMC Woodbury Campus is the east metro site for the Tubman Holiday Gift Program.
Feed My Starving Children
FMSC is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. WPGUMC sends a work team to FMSC once a month. Signup sheets to work at FMSC are located in the Woodbury Campus Commons and the Peaceful Grove Fellowship Area.
International Child Care
ICC is a Christian health development organization operating in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. It is working to change the conditions of poverty that impact the health and well-being of the children in those countries. WPGUMC has sent a number of mission teams to help with the work of this organization.
Neighborhood House
Neighborhood House is a multicultural, multilingual community center that is often a first stop for new immigrants and refugees. It provides programs and services to individuals and families through emergency assistance, long-term social assistance, and educational programs. WPGUMC receives regular collections to support their culturally appropriate food shelf.
Robin's Nest Children's Home
Located in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Robin's Nest provides a safe and nurturing Christian home for children who are orphans or whose parents are not able to provide for them. Some of their residents are children with special needs. All the kids there receive a loving home and an education. WPGUMC supports The Nest with financial donations and we have sent several mission teams to work at the home.
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity works to provide decent, affordable housing for all people. They build houses using volunteer labor and donations of cash and materials. WPGUMC has had many teams participating in projects in the Twin Cities area.
