There are opportunities to share the gift of music on both campuses of WPGUMC.  We have traditional choirs for adults, praise bands, a bell choir, and children’s choirs.  The choirs welcome singers throughout the year and will have special opportunities for those who can only make a shorter-term commitment.

 

Our musical groups enjoy fellowship, friendship and most importantly the sharing of the good news of God's love through music in worship and special musical events.  They give us the gift of their musical talents and are ministers to our congregation.

 

Adult Chancel Choirs

  • The chancel choirs at both campuses lead us in praising God through song.  During the school year, rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7:00.   The Chancel Choir director on the Woodbury Campus is Bryce Hayes.  The Chancel Choir directors on the Peaceful Grove Campus are Gary Christensen and Lea Anna McGowan.

Contemporary Worship Bands

 

  • WINGs is a dynamic contemporary worship band.  Those with strong vocal and/or instrumental skills and a heart for leading worship are invited to contact director Rick Murphy for further information about participation.  Commitment includes Tuesday evening rehearsals and weekly 10:00 and 11:15 am services on the Woodbury campus.
  • RockSolid is a praise band that leads worship at the Wednesday evening youth worship services.  The band rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:30 and occasionally on Saturdays.

Steeple Bells

  • An adult handbell choir for experienced ringers.  The group provides music in worship once a month on the Woodbury campus.  Rehearsals are on Tuesdays, 5:30-7:00 pm, in the Music Education Room, September-May.  For more information, contact Jan Rasmussen, Director of Steeple Bells.

Children's Choirs

  • Children from both campuses and from the community are welcome to participate in our high-quality choral music program for children.  There are two choirs for kids in Kindergarten through 7th grade.  More info
